Say Hello To My Little Friend...
After waking up repeatedly all night for a couple (or maybe more) with shooting pain and numbness (at the same time) along my elbow, down my arm, and into my fingers, I decided to buy this joyful thing.
My wrist feels better already. I haven't knitted much in the past couple of days. I've finished the pink hat and started Hubs' V-day gift.
I have stories to tell of male knit-bloggers from afar, but it does hurt to type and I do have an online class that I need to save the wrist for...
So, more later- whenever that may be.
And, the silky wool isn't for Hourglass- I'd need 2 more skeins or more. It's for a Elsbeth Lavold design. Not sure which just yet.

From someone how has Carpal Tunnel in both hands...the most effective use of that brace is to wear it to bed...after fooling around...you could really hurt hubby with it :)
But any who...
Wear it to bed in the morning your hand will feel really tired...don't try to pick up a hot cup of coffee with it...but start our slowly with it. It will feel awesome in just a little time say about an hour to two max.
Oh yeah...
It gets a little hard to get used to wearing to bed but after a short time you will stop th throwing it across the room in the middle of the night.
Hope you're feeling better soon. Maybe I missed something-- is it carpel tunnel? A friend of mine who knits had it, had the surgery, and feels like a million bucks now and knits like a crazy woman.
Eeep! Be very careful with those hands. You don't get another pair! If your pain continues, definitely see a doctor. Hope it gets better soon!

Ouch! Hope you feel better soon.
Better to be safe than sorry. My SIL had problems and even went on disability for a time, and she says every specialist she went to said they wished people saw them earlier when they could have prevented more damage. The wrist things are a good start. I found whenever I wear them, I can't knit. :(
