Gale Saves the World.

I've been couped up in the house since Monday afternoon. My kid is still sick, he gave himself a bloody fat lip this morning, I'm cranky and overtired.

But you know what? None of it matters.

Because Gale saved the world last night by offering up her comment:

"Go get some ice cream."

My world is good again.

Since The Boy was sick yesterday I was able to plop my butt on the couch and knit. And knit. And knit. I won't complain about the lack of feeling in my wrist...but let's just say that it's noticeable.

I'm past the corrugated rib and onto the charts!

April 1st is looming.

Ps. Anyone have any idea of where I can find cheap moving boxes? The storage place offered boxes for $5.00 each! Yikes! I'd love to find a cheap alternative, if possible. Thanks!

sweater is lovely- Ice cream is the cure for everything unless you're in elementary school in which case it's a wet paper towel. Might try schools for boxes- xerox paper comes in the perfect sized moving box imho

ice Cream. All's good.

For boxes, you can try asking at assorted stores, with grocery and book stores probably your best bet. They cut up their boxes, so ask in advance.

Ice cream can right all worngs and make everythign good. For cheap moving boxes, I would check craiglist or freecycle. When we moved, we got a lot of moving boxes that way and saved some $$.

Your title SO made my day !
Glad it worked.

(try freecycle for the moving boxes, people are always seeming to list them there)

Boxes - grocery stores and liquor stores. Boxes from liquor store are especially great for heavy items (books) or fragile items (glasses) if they still have the cardboard bottle separators in them.

(Yeah, I know, I come out of hiding to tell you about boxes. I'm so sorry you've been having a hard time of it lately.)

When I moved, I got them from my work. If you don't get some other ones from craigslist or freecycles (that's a yahoo group, you can search it) let me know and I will try to get you some... I mean after all, I work for the Packaging Dept!!!

5$?!?! No way! Go to stop & shop and ask them for some boxes. They have those big boxes that the cartons of eggs come in that are pretty sturdy.

Ice cream. Now that gives me an idea.

I'll vote for trying local stores to ask for boxes. When I was getting ready to move, my son spotted a huge pile of boxes behind a Chinese grocery store. I went inside and asked if I could have a few, and the nice lady inside even came out and helped me load them into my car. Just ask - they'll give them to you. It might help to have the boy with you! The cuteness factor.

Also Barnes & Noble and Borders (and independent book stores too, but big stores would have more) for boxes. Especially good for moving books!

We missed you at knitting!

Boxes...supermarket? Make friends with someone that works retail and have them keep the shipping boxes for you.

I don't have a ton left, but I have probably 10 or so boxes that I've been too lazy to take to the recycling center. you're welcome to them--I could even bring them to you at SnB if you don't need them immediately.

Grocery stores that sell bananas (banana boxes are AWESOME for moving!), drug stores... pretty much any place that gets shipments of freight. I'd shoot for smaller stores, though... places like Wal Mart don't usually give out very much. You will have to buy some packing tape to put them together, but it's still cheaper than buying them! Plus, who cares if they get ripped, right?
